Zion Abdul Alhassan, 27, Arrested for Multiple Offenses including Robbery

The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect in multiple offenses that occurred in Northeast.
On Thursday, August 13, 2026, at approximately 3:40 p.m., the suspect approached a victim at the intersection of 5th and F Street, Northeast, forcibly took the victim’s property, and fled on foot. The victim’s credit card was subsequently used. Officers later located and arrested the suspect, recovering some of the victim’s property.
On Thursday, August 13, 2026, 27-year-old Zion Abdul Alhassan, of Columbia, MD, was arrested and charged with Robbery (Force and Violence) and Misdemeanor Credit Card Fraud CCN: 26017834
Additionally, Alhassan was charged with the following offenses:
Robbery (Snatch): On Saturday, August 8, 2026, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the suspect approached the victim on foot in the 700 block of 3rd Street, Northeast. The suspect engaged the victim in conversation while walking. The suspect then snatched the victim’s property and fled on foot. A canvass led to the recovery of some of the victim’s discarded property. CCN: 26111143
Burglary One & Threats to Kidnap or Injure a Person: On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at approximately 3:50 p.m., the suspect entered an occupied residence in the 600 block of Acker Place, Northeast. While inside, the suspect took the victim’s property and fled on foot. The victim and a witness began chasing the suspect. During the chase, the suspect threatened to shoot the witness, and the suspect fled the scene. CCN: 26105425
