Please note that I do NOT grant interview requests on the issue of gentrification. That goes for academic interview requests as well.

Okay, I'm not THAT expensive but you get the idea.

REQUESTS TO “PICK MY BRAIN”

That is "consulting work," and I get paid for that. So, just like you expect compensation for your time and talents, I need to be compensated for mine. Why?

Historically, consultants and small business owners who live or work in Wards 7 and 8 are always expected to volunteer their services. In contrast, an entity or consultant without connection to the community is awarded a lucrative contract to do work they are not qualified to do. Unfortunately for them, I don't play that. That is also why I keep certain aspects of Congress Heights on the Rise and my small business confidential; it is too tempting for less-than-ethical individuals to make false claims without doing the actual work.

Please drop me a line for inquiries about my consulting rates and services. I promise I'm worth every penny and more.

Black licorice and coffee are to be avoided at all costs.

REQUESTS TO “MEET FOR COFFEE”

If this site encouraged you to consider a move east of the river, I am ecstatic! Welcome! You will soon discover all the fantastic things that make Wards 7 and Ward 8 special.

The views are amazing, the people are lovely, and there is a real sense of community. Feel free to drop me a line to introduce yourself, but please note that I don't like coffee, and even if I did, I wouldn't have time to drink it anyway. LOL! Also, I take the coronavirus very seriously, so I adhere to standard safety protocols, limit my indoor activities, and always wear a mask.

Congress Heights on the Rise and reSPIN is a one-woman operation; I have to be pretty savage with my time to compensate. I don't even have the time to tell you I can't meet for coffee, so I apologize if your offer goes unanswered. Sometimes I miss an email or two in the efforts to spread the word about life east of the river.

So I invite you to attend Advisory Neighborhood Commission monthly meetings, join the Great Ward 8 Facebook pagethe Original Great Ward 8 Facebook page, the Greater Ward 7 Facebook page, and the MPD 7D Listserv to start. You can also check out one of the many social and community groups, such as the Historic Anacostia Block Association, River East Emerging Leaders, Happy Ours, Anacostia Coordinating Council, Deanwood Citizens Association, or the Congress Heights Civic Association, to start. They do great work, and they can't wait to meet you!
