Nov 7 | Free Storytelling Performance and Family Portraits in Anacostia

Every life has a story worth telling. On Saturday, November 7, 2026, The DAP Project will host a free community event in Anacostia centered on dementia, storytelling, memories, and family connections.

Presented in collaboration with Canta Stories Co., StoriesDC, and Verbal Gymnastics, the gathering will feature a playback theater performance, an interactive form of theater that brings personal stories and experiences to life through improvisational performances.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to take family portraits, creating lasting keepsakes with loved ones.

The event offers an opportunity for families, caregivers, and community members to come together, reflect on the importance of preserving personal histories, and celebrate the stories that connect generations.
