Last Chance: Registration for Free Family Art Therapy Program Closes July 1
DC families looking for a meaningful way to strengthen their relationships this summer have only a short time left to register for Project Create's free Family Art Therapy program.
Registration closes Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. for the six-week series, which runs from July 2 through August 6.
Designed to foster stronger family connections, the program provides a supportive and engaging group experience where families explore creative art-making to improve communication, reduce stress, build resilience, and support emotional well-being. No artistic experience is required—only a willingness to show up, listen, and create together.
Each weekly session begins with a shared meal, giving families an opportunity to relax, connect with one another, and build community before participating in guided art activities.
Before the series begins, facilitator and art therapist Iman Khatib will meet individually with each participating family to learn about their unique strengths, challenges, and goals. At the conclusion of the program, families will have the opportunity to reflect on their experiences, celebrate their growth, and share feedback to support continued learning.
The program is free for DC residents, making it an accessible opportunity for families seeking a creative and supportive way to grow together this summer.
