July 1 | Registration Opens for Anacostia's DiverseCity Summer Dreams Block Party

Community members are encouraged to mark their calendars as RSVP registration opens on Wednesday, July 1, for the upcoming DiverseCity Summer Dreams Block Party, taking place on Friday, August 14, in Anacostia.

Hosted as part of Yelp's DiverseCity campaign, the free event will transform Dreaming Out Loud's Marion Barry Avenue Market & Café into a lively celebration of local businesses, culture, and community from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Guests can look forward to shopping from a variety of local vendors, enjoying live music and entertainment, sampling delicious food, collecting giveaways, and participating in family-friendly crafts and activities. The event is designed to showcase diverse-owned businesses while celebrating the vibrant spirit of Anacostia.

The celebration also supports Dreaming Out Loud, a Washington, DC nonprofit dedicated to building healthy, equitable communities through food access, economic opportunity, and community development.

The Summer Dreams Block Party is just one of several DiverseCity events taking place across Washington, DC this summer. Registration for many of the other free DiverseCity events is already open, while registration for the Summer Dreams Block Party opens July 1.

Although all events are free to attend, advance RSVP is required, and guests are selected by Yelp from those who register. Those chosen to attend will receive a confirmation email with redemption instructions.
