Who doesn’t love a summer Friday night spent on the river? Our Friday Night Fishing program is a free, family friendly, learn-to-fish program. Open to all ages. ARK, and partner Earth Conservation Corps, provide everything you need for you and your family to learn how to fish in a fun and educational environment.
How it works
Anacostia Riverkeeper provides the fishing gear, safety vests, and a mini-demo on fishing, fishing safety and fun facts about the fish in the river. You bring yourself, friends and family (children are welcome) and lots of community spirit!
Adults need DC fishing licenses to actively fish.
Registration is recommended via the Anacostia Riverkeeper Constant Contact event page.
Every participant must fill out and complete the Anacostia Riverkeeper Liability Waiver.
Please wear close-toed shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
Bring water to drink.
