Ward 7 is getting ready to come together for a powerful day of celebration, reflection, and community at the 2026 Juneteenth Parade & Opal’s Walk for Freedom on Friday, June 19.
Juneteenth marks the day enslaved African Americans in the United States were finally informed of their freedom and has become a time to honor Black history, culture, resilience, and joy. Here in DC, the celebration continues with a vibrant community event bringing neighbors, families, local organizations, and supporters together in Ward 7.
