June 19 | ONE DC to Host Juneteenth Community Festival in Anacostia
Community members are invited to celebrate Juneteenth in Anacostia as ONE DC hosts a community festival on Friday, June 19, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the ONE DC Black Workers & Wellness Center, located at 2500 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE (adjacent lot at Bethlehem Baptist Church).
The day-long event will bring together residents, organizers, artists, and local businesses for an afternoon centered on culture, community, and collective action. Attendees can look forward to live music, local artists and vendors, community outreach tables, and food and drinks throughout the festival.
In addition to the entertainment and community marketplace, organizers will also highlight the historical and present-day significance of Juneteenth through conversations about ongoing organizing campaigns and community-driven initiatives taking place across the District.
The festival aims to create a space where celebration and advocacy intersect, honoring the legacy of Juneteenth while uplifting the voices and work of local organizers and residents working toward equity and empowerment in Washington, DC.
The event is open to the community and offers an opportunity to connect with neighbors, support local creatives and vendors, and learn more about organizing efforts taking place in Ward 8 and beyond.
