Feb 4 | Ask A DC Native: Black History Month Event
As part of its ongoing Beyond The Exhibition programming, the Anacostia Community Museum is bringing a lively, community-centered event to Ward 8 this February in celebration of Black History Month.
On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, community members are invited to Grounded Cafe for Ask A DC Native—an interactive, game-style program that puts local knowledge, history, and culture front and center. Hosted in partnership with The 51st News and Grounded Cafe, the evening brings together DC natives and friends for a friendly competition celebrating the people, stories, and traditions that shape the city.
Designed to be fun, engaging, and deeply rooted in local pride, Ask A DC Native invites audiences to test their knowledge of Washington, DC’s history, art, and culture—while honoring the voices that continue to define the city. This Black History Month edition shines a spotlight on community storytelling and shared heritage, making it both entertaining and meaningful.
This program is part of ACM Beyond The Exhibition, a special series created to keep community engagement thriving while the museum’s gallery undergoes an exciting exhibition installation from January through May 2026. Hosted at partner locations throughout Ward 8 from January through March, the series focuses on history, wellness, and culture—offering free opportunities for learning, dialogue, and connection beyond the museum walls.
