A Quick Note From The Advoc8te: Bear With Me 💛

If you noticed there was no CHotR newsletter or update on Thursday, July 30—and only a very short one on Wednesday, July 29—I apologize.

It’s somewhat fitting that earlier this week I shared my experience with my recent health issues, because I’m still very much in the middle of that journey. We’re continuing to unravel the cause, work through treatment and, hopefully, get to the cure.

As you can probably imagine, my days right now include a lot of doctor’s appointments. Earlier this week it was a visit to the neurologist. And fun fact: Did you know they can glue electrodes to knotless box braids? Because I certainly did not. 😂 The things you learn!

Yesterday was a visit to the cardiologist, and by the time I was done, I’d missed my cutoff for getting the newsletter out. And, to be completely honest, the fatigue hit me HARD. Before I knew it, I was snoozing. 😴

Next week will also bring several appointments, but I’m going to try my best to get the blog and newsletter locked and loaded the night before so things can keep moving even when my body decides it has other plans.

Earlier this week, I also wrote about what I’ve been going through, how this health journey started and some of the things I’ve learned that I hope might help someone else. If you missed it, you can read my editorial here:

So bear with me from time to time if I can’t present CHotR at its very best—or if an update is shorter than usual or doesn’t make it out at all.

After nearly 18 years of doing this, you all know how seriously I take keeping our community informed. But right now, I’m also learning that sometimes I have to listen when my body says, “Girl, go sit down somewhere.” 😂

Thank you for your patience, your grace and for continuing to read and support Congress Heights on the Rise.

We’ll keep rising. I just might need a nap every now and then. 💛
