Updated July 4 Flyover Schedule for Washington, DC

Just a heads up, neighbors—the updated July 4 flyover schedule has been released, and if you're like me, you're probably already bracing for a day of low-flying military aircraft.

I know many people enjoy the tradition, but personally, I think the constant flyovers can be a bit much. My first thought is always about our pets, veterans and others living with PTSD, people with sensory sensitivities, babies trying to nap, and anyone else who gets caught off guard by the repeated noise.

If you have a dog that's nervous around loud sounds, now's a good time to make a plan. And if you know someone who struggles with unexpected loud noises, it may be worth giving them a heads-up that the aircraft will be active throughout the day.

Whether you love the flyovers or wish there were fewer of them, knowing when they're happening can help you plan your day.
