Suspects Sought in a Homicide: 1100 Block of 51st Street, NE

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating two suspects in connection to a homicide that occurred on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, in the 1100 block of 51st Street, Northeast.

At approximately 11:18 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to the area for the report of a man down. Upon arrival, members located an adult male in the 900 block of Eastern Avenue, suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services were summoned to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. After all lifesaving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead. 

 The decedent has been identified as 40 year-old Rubelio Gomez Cervantes, of Riverdale, MD.

 The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
