On Saturday, July 13th the Metropolitan Police Department Recruiting Division of Washington, DC hosted the 2019 Recruiting Fair. The Fair took place from 10 am – 2:00 pm on the grounds of the Metropolitan Police Academy. Nearly 300 prospects attended to see, learn, and hear from officers in different divisions what it’s like to protect the cityβ€”and what it takes to join the team. Additionally, prospects had the opportunity to attend educational workshops along with the showcase of MPD programs, special units, teams, and divisions. MPD Prospect Day allows each applicant the ability to complete a substantial portion of the process without having to make separate trips to the Department. Applicants should plan for the full day, as each step takes time to complete.

The gate will open at 7:30 am and an officer will direct you to the appropriate location to park. Parking is available nearby at the Potomac Job Corps (1060 Blue Plains Drive, SW, Washington, DC 20032). There is no cost for parking. Please allow time to arrive as traffic conditions often vary. Note: Backpacks and/or luggage bags are not allowed at the Metropolitan Police Academy.

  • Upon arrival, you must have the MPD Prospect Day Orientation Material Booklet completed (to be reviewed at Applicant Screening). The link to the booklet can be found in your MPD Prospect Day confirmation email and is available here.
