Sept 26 | ANC 8C07 Community Cleanup

Ward 8 residents are invited to roll up their sleeves and help create cleaner, healthier neighborhoods through the #CleanWard8 Initiative, led by Commissioner Salim Adofo.

The community cleanup initiative brings together residents, students, faith-based groups, fraternities and sororities, community organizations and other volunteers to remove litter and improve shared public spaces throughout Ward 8.

But #CleanWard8 is about more than picking up trash. The initiative connects neighborhood cleanups with environmental justice — the idea that every community deserves clean streets, healthy public spaces and an environment where families can thrive.

Everyone is welcome to volunteer, including families and children with adult supervision. Community service hours are available, and refreshments will be provided.

Volunteers should wear comfortable, older clothes and shoes they don't mind getting dirty.

Through #CleanWard8, residents have an opportunity to make an immediate, visible difference in their neighborhoods while meeting neighbors and building community along the way.
