Sept 20 | Anacostia Park Community Cleanup

Looking for a simple way to give back to your neighborhood this weekend? Friends of Anacostia Park is hosting a community park-care morning on Saturday, September 20, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Volunteers will meet Grounds Lead Mr. Wayne at the Anacostia Park Skating Pavilion. This hands-on event happens every third Saturday from June through October and is open to all skill levels—just show up ready to help.

Projects vary by need, and all supplies are provided. Typical tasks include:

  • Picking up litter and removing invasive species

  • Mulching and watering young trees

  • General landscaping and beautification
