Sept 12 | Department of Parks and Recreation Opening Four Pools for Doggie Day Swim

(Washington, DC) – The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and DC Health are excited to announce the return of Doggie Day Swim DC on Saturday, September 12, from noon to 4 pm, at four outdoor pool locations across the District. This annual event offers properly licensed dogs of all sizes a chance to jump in the pool before the season ends. Dogs must be accompanied by their owners.
Visit DoggieDaySwimDC.splashthat.com to reserve your spot. Admission is free, but registration is required for both dogs and handlers. All dogs must have a valid and original DC Health-issued dog license and tag to enter the pool. If an application for a license is needed, you must have the required documentation (i.e., proof of current rabies and distemper vaccinations and proof of spaying/neutering). Dog licenses should be completed in advance, and no payments are accepted on site.

Event rules & safety guidelines
All dogs must wear their DC license while on-site.
Dog handlers must be at least 16 years old.
Handlers are not allowed to enter the pool with their dog.
Dogs must be sociable and always leashed on the deck.
Dogs must be current on vaccinations and spayed/neutered.
