Calling Young Photographers! Capture the Beauty of Anacostia
Every photo tells a story — and a new photography class is inviting young people to tell the story of Anacostia through their own eyes.
Capturing Our Neighborhood gives young artists ages 11 to 18 an opportunity to learn photography while documenting the people, places and everyday moments that make Anacostia home.
Led by instructor Saida Blair, participants will explore photography basics including composition, lighting and perspective while learning to look at their neighborhood through a new lens.
The class is offered for youth in two age groups, 11–13 and 14–18, and meets Tuesdays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
For budding photographers, it's a chance to build new creative skills while capturing the beauty, character and stories found right in their own community.
