Rakeem Willis (28), arrested for triple homicide on 1500 block of Fort Davis Place SE

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced an arrest has been made in reference to three homicides that occurred on Saturday, January 26, 2019, in the 1500 block of Fort Davis Place, Southeast. 

At approximately 10:00 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to the listed location for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Additionally, officers located two adult males inside of a vehicle, also suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and determined the victims displayed no signs consistent with life. The victims remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The decedents have been identified as 26 year-old Sean Shuler of Capitol Heights, MD, 26 year-old Javon Abney of Southeast, DC, and 24 year-old Tyrik Hagood of Northeast, DC. 

On Tuesday, June 11, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested 28 year-old Rakeem Willis, of Northeast, DC. He has been charged with First Degree Murder while Armed. 

This case remains under investigation.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
