Pavement Restoration Projects Underway Across Wards 7 & 8

The DC Department of Transportation (DDOT) is continuing its efforts to improve roadway conditions across the District, with a new round of pavement restoration projects scheduled over the next two weeks. Work is expected to take place in both Ward 7 and Ward 8, with crews focusing on key corridors that see regular traffic. All work is weather permitting, and temporary lane closures or minor delays may occur during construction hours.

Residents and commuters in Ward 7 can expect paving activity at the following locations:

• Benning Road NE between 15th Street NE and 21st Street NE

• Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue NE between 56th Street NE and 57th Street NE

• Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue NE between Jay Street NE and 58th Street NE

• Pennsylvania Avenue SE between 27th Street SE and Alabama Avenue SE

Ward 8 Project Areas

In Ward 8, DDOT crews will focus on several major routes, including:

• Chesapeake Street SW between Chesapeake Street SE, South Capitol Street, and South Capitol Terrace SW

• Chesapeake Street SW between South Capitol Terrace SW and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SW

• I-295 Northbound between the Maryland line and Overlook Avenue SW

• I-295 Southbound between Overlook Avenue SW and the Maryland line
