Oct 23, 30 + 31 | Hip Hop Anansi @ Anacostia Arts Center

Anacostia High School proudly invites you and your students to attend the first theater production from our new Urban Arts Institute!

If you’re considering a field trip for your students this October, come on down to the Anacostia Arts Center to see one of two shows on October 23rd, 30th, or 31st. Anacostia High School students have prepared a brilliant adaptation of the Ashanti folktale “Anansi” which your students may already know as the trickster figure in West African folklore. Our version, Hip Hop Anansi is the same African folklore story but with a modern hip-hop twist. “Anansi” is a A spider that gets tricked, just as much as he tricks others!

Reserve a spot for your students today! Please RSVP by filling out this form, and indicate which date and time works best for your school. This is open to all DC elementary and middle schools, so RSVP quickly as tickets are limited to 50 per school.
