MPD Reminds DC Residents of Youth Curfew Hours

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is reminding District residents that the citywide youth curfew schedule for the school year is now in effect.

From September through June, youth under the age of 18 are subject to the following curfew hours across the District:

  • Sunday through Thursday: 11:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.

  • Saturday and Sunday: 12:01 a.m. – 6:00 a.m.

The seasonal curfew schedule differs from the summer curfew hours in effect during July and August.

Parents, guardians, young people, and community members are encouraged to keep the curfew hours in mind when making evening and weekend plans.

The curfew applies citywide to youth under 18.
