May 16 | Park Care Day at Anacostia Park

Looking for a way to give back to one of DC’s most beloved green spaces? Friends of Anacostia Park is inviting community members to roll up their sleeves and take part in an upcoming Park Care Day at the Anacostia Park Skate Pavilion.

The volunteer event will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and is focused on helping keep Anacostia Park clean, healthy, and welcoming for everyone who visits.

Projects vary depending on the park’s needs, but typical activities include trash removal, invasive species cleanup, mulching and watering trees, and other landscape beautification efforts. No experience is necessary, and all supplies will be provided.

Park Care Day is a great opportunity for neighbors, families, students, and community groups to spend time outdoors while supporting one of the District’s most important public spaces.

Those interested in participating are encouraged to sign up in advance.
