July 15 | Free Event to Connect and Support Kinship Caregivers
Caregivers across the District are invited to attend Loving Arms: Connections for Kinship, a free community event designed to provide information, resources, and support for individuals caring for children and youth.
The gathering will take place on Wednesday, July 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Capitol View Public Library, 5001 Central Avenue SE.
The event is open to anyone serving in a caregiving role, including grandparents, relatives, family friends, foster caregivers, and others who provide care and support to children and young people.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from local experts during two informative panel discussions covering topics such as guardianship, caregiver rights, and the programs and services available to families throughout the District of Columbia. The sessions are intended to help caregivers better understand available resources while providing practical information they can use to navigate their unique caregiving responsibilities.
Families are encouraged to bring their children. Staff from the DC Public Library will host a variety of youth activities throughout the event, including a scavenger hunt, games, crafts, and other interactive experiences to keep young attendees engaged while caregivers participate in the discussions.
Refreshments will also be provided.
Whether you're new to a caregiving role or have been supporting a child for years, Loving Arms: Connections for Kinship offers an opportunity to learn, connect with others, and discover resources that can help strengthen families across the District.
