Job Alert | Data entry clerk (Remote) - $50k to $60k/year
New Endeavors by Women (NEW) is a nonprofit organization that partners with women and children experiencing homelessness to create new futures through housing, supportive services, and community. The Data Entry Clerk ensures program, client, and administrative information is entered accurately and on time so staff can make informed decisions and report to funders and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Enter client, program, financial, and administrative data into organizational databases, spreadsheets, and case management or donor management systems.
Review source documents (intake forms, sign-in sheets, service notes, invoices, reports) for completeness and clarity before entry, following NEWβs data standards.
Verify accuracy of entered data by cross-checking with original documents and correcting any discrepancies or missing information.
Regularly update existing records to reflect changes in services, status, contact information, or participation.
Organize and maintain electronic and paper files so information is easy to locate for staff, audits, and reporting.
Generate basic reports and exports from databases or spreadsheets to support program reporting, grants, and internal dashboards.
Follow confidentiality, privacy, and data security procedures to protect sensitive client and organizational information
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or vocational training in business, human services, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience in data entry, administrative support, or office work, ideally in a nonprofit or human services environment.
Fast and accurate typing skills and comfort working with large volumes of information.
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort learning client, case management, or donor database systems.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow established procedures.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with program, finance, and development staff.
