Jan 27 | Anacostia Coordinating Council Meeting
Founded in 1983, Anacostia Coordinating Council (ACC) is a volunteer, membership-based consortium of organizations and individuals committed to the revitalization of Anacostia and its surrounding neighborhoods. The Council was originally established to organize community support for the construction of the Anacostia Metro Station and has since grown to address a wide range of issues impacting the community.
ACC plays an active role in information gathering and sharing, networking, advocacy, and community organizing. Since its inception, the organization has welcomed more than 1,000 guest speakers to its monthly meetings, providing a platform to discuss pressing community concerns and share critical updates and resources.
Each year, ACC sponsors or co-sponsors multiple evening community meetings that draw hundreds of residents. Through hundreds of initiatives and activities over the decades, the Anacostia Coordinating Council has remained deeply engaged in addressing the everyday needs and long-term priorities of community members.
