Housing Counseling Services seeks IT Support Specialist - $50k to $70k/year
HCS is a non-profit agency founded in 1972 to provide training, counseling and technical assistance to homebuyers, homeowners, tenants and the homeless. HCS works to build the capacity of individuals and groups to preserve their homes, seek their highest level of housing independence and support the economic and social development of their neighborhoods.
HCS is looking for an IT Support Specialist to assist our Director of IT in managing hardware and software environments. This Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support to all HCS staff and assist in maintaining the company’s computers and network infrastructure. The Specialist will report to and consult with the Director of IT for all issues related to HCS's IT capabilities, troubleshooting, and future IT improvements.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum two years Help Desk/ Systems Administration experience
Windows Server administration
Understanding of network infrastructure (IP addressing, VLANs, VPNs, Client/Server environments)
Must be an excellent verbal and written communicator
Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and independent worker
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, serving multiple people each day
Office 365 administration experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position is on-site and requires travel to other local office locations
Providing support to the user community including resolving issues with PCs, printers and mobile devices, answering questions from users, providing training, and other technical duties as needed.
Local area network and file server administration
Administer changes and adjustments to systems,
Maintaining and improving a set of controls to protect the company from a variety of potential threats including viruses, malware, and other security/access risks
Work to identify and correct causes of hardware and software malfunctions and to perform enhancements
Train new employees on basic IT systems functionality.
Assist in developing, planning, implementing, and administering goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
