Seeking a compassionate and energetic individual to provide temporary care for our mother in our home in NW D.C. near Petworth and Columbia Heights. She is a 70-year-old woman with a C-5 level spinal cord injury that left her quadriplegic. Experience with caring for immobile individuals is required. While training will be provided, this is a short-term position for the month of February, so we are seeking someone with a solid foundation of caregiving skills. We are currently hiring for weekday and weekend evening shifts (approximately 4 pm to 10 pm though there is some flexibility in the exact hours). Pay is competitive and depends on experience.

Duties include assistance with all activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, feeding, transfers between the bed and wheelchair, range of motion and physical exercises, meal preparation, housekeeping, companionship, going on outings, helping with hobbies, and toileting assistance.

To apply, please email a short statement describing 1) your relevant experience; 2) your interest in the position; and 3) the number of hours per work you are looking for; and 4) which days of the week you are available for evening shifts.

We take Covid precautions very seriously, including wearing masks at all times while caregivers are in the home and providing medical masks and face shields to caregivers.
