Get Creative with History at Anacostia Community Museum’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” Workshop
The Smithsonian’s Anacostia Community Museum (ACM) is inviting lifelong learners to explore the art and history of postcards and postage stamps during a free-form creative workshop on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 1 PM to 3 PM.
Titled “Lifelong Learners: Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” the hands-on workshop will explore how postcards and stamps capture history through images, stories, people, places, and important moments in time.
Inspired by the museum’s latest exhibition, We Make History, participants will have the opportunity to design their own postcards and stamps while exploring the connections between art, history, and community.
The workshop will also encourage participants to think about how something as simple as a piece of mail can preserve personal memories, document community experiences, and share stories with future generations.
