Gearin’ Up Bicycles: A Community Bike Shop Powering Youth Skills & Affordable Cycling in DC
Since 2012, Gearin’ Up Bicycles has been serving Washington, DC as much more than a bike shop—it’s a community hub dedicated to teaching bicycle repair skills, expanding access to affordable bikes, and opening doors for young people from under-served communities.
In 2023, the organization joined forces with the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA), further strengthening its mission of education, empowerment, and mobility equity across the District.
