Free Hazardous Tree Removal Available for Ward 7 & 8 Residents
Residents in Wards 7 and 8 have a unique opportunity to address hazardous trees on their property—at no cost—through a community-focused initiative led by Accokeek Arborist in partnership with a local nonprofit.
This initiative offers free removal of hazardous trees for qualifying properties, helping homeowners eliminate potential safety risks without the financial burden. The only requirement? Participants must agree to allow new trees to be planted in place of those removed—supporting a greener, healthier community for the future.
Hazardous trees—whether weakened by storms, disease, or structural instability—can pose serious risks to homes, vehicles, and surrounding areas. This program not only helps remove those dangers but also reinvests in the neighborhood by replacing lost trees with new growth.
By combining safety with sustainability, this effort reflects a broader commitment to strengthening neighborhoods across Wards 7 and 8—making it easier for residents to protect their property while contributing to long-term environmental benefits.
