Free Eye Exams and Glasses Available for DC Children This Summer

Families across Washington, DC have an opportunity to help their children start the next school year with clear vision thanks to a partnership between DC Public Library and Vision To Learn.

Throughout the summer, Vision To Learn will provide no-cost eye exams for children ages 3–18 (PreK through 12th grade) at select DC Public Library locations. Children who need corrective lenses will also receive free glasses, helping ensure they have the tools they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Vision challenges can often go unnoticed, impacting a child's ability to read, learn, and participate confidently in school activities. Programs like this help remove barriers to care by making vision services accessible and affordable for families throughout the District.

Appointments are available now, but space may be limited.
