Feb 7 | MidnightRose: Poetry, Prose, and Love in Black History Month

This February, the MidnightRose reading series invites the community to gather for an afternoon of powerful words, shared stories, and creative connection. Presented by Esther Productions Inc. in partnership with the Institute for African American Writing and the Black Student Fund, MidnightRose celebrates the depth and diversity of multigenerational, multicultural writers from the Washington Metropolitan Region and beyond.

The February theme—“It’s a Love Thing: Black History. Poetry. Love!”—centers love as both a personal and collective force, explored through poetry and prose that honor Black history, creativity, and lived experience. Attendees will hear readings by award-winning writers Alexa Patrick and Karl W. Carter, Jr., whose work reflects the richness, resilience, and imagination of the community.
