Fatal Shooting of Decordre Chiles, 33, in Northeast

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in Northeast.

On Sunday, June 15, 2025, at approximately 1:50 a.m., Fifth District officers responded to a residence for the report of a shooting in the 1000 block of 16th Street, Northeast. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 33-year-old Decordre Chiles of Oxon Hill, MD.
