🌟 Dec 13 | Opening Reception for 'In No Certain Order' by Terence Nicholson
Honfleur Gallery is pleased to present In No Certain Order, a solo exhibition featuring recent works by multidisciplinary artist Terence Nicholson. The exhibition opens on December 13, 2025, with an opening reception at 6:00 PM, and will be on view through January 17, 2026. Admission to the gallery is free.
Unlike Nicholson’s previous exhibitions, You Can’t Unring the Bell and The Eternal Echo, which centered on singular themes, In No Certain Order embraces the spirit of experimentation that fuels Nicholson’s creative process.
The exhibition brings together assemblages, video works, mixed-media pieces on Plexiglas and other unconventional substrates, alongside traditional canvases. These works highlight Nicholson’s ongoing exploration of materiality, process, and creative risk, pushing into new media while remaining deeply rooted in the raw, expressive qualities that define his practice.
The opening reception will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Honfleur Gallery, located at 1241 Good Hope Road SE in Washington, DC. The exhibition is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Terence Nicholson is a native Washingtonian and longtime resident of Anacostia. A multidisciplinary artist, his work spans visual art, music, and Chinese martial arts. His visual artwork has been exhibited at notable venues including Honfleur Gallery, Willow Street Gallery in Takoma, Strathmore, and the Smithsonian Museum of American Art, where his work is currently featured in the Sightlines exhibition.
Beyond his visual practice, Nicholson has earned international recognition in Chinese martial arts, receiving multiple medals in Kung Fu competitions and teaching the discipline for more than 30 years. His lifelong dedication to martial arts deeply informs his artistic approach, melding physical discipline with a Taoist-influenced philosophical framework.
Nicholson is also the frontman of the DC rock band Thaylobleu, whose legacy is cemented in Washington, DC’s cultural history through its inclusion in the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library’s permanent exhibit on Go-Go and Hardcore Punk.
