May 15 | Deadline for DC Commission on the Arts + Humanities Summer Internship Program
Students interested in arts administration and creative community work now have additional time to apply for the Summer 2026 Internship Program with the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (CAH).
CAH has announced that the application deadline has been extended to Friday, May 15, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
The program is seeking dynamic undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in arts management to support several departments across the agency, including Arts Education, Communications, Culture & Community, Events, Grants, Public Art, and Resource Allocation.
Internship hours vary by department, with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week during the summer term. Interns will work closely with department leadership and staff while gaining hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of a major public arts agency.
Participants will attend department meetings, staff meetings, and select commissioner committee meetings throughout the internship.
At the conclusion of the internship, participants will receive a one-time stipend of $2,500.
The internship presents a valuable opportunity for students interested in public service, arts advocacy, cultural programming, grantmaking, communications, and community engagement within Washington, DC’s creative sector.
Students interested in applying are encouraged to submit their applications before the extended May 15 deadline.
