The SBRC is conveniently located in the hub of the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs’ (DCRA) Permitting and Licensing Center. 

SBRC is your premier one-stop shop to information and services that can help you start and strengthen your business in the District. Through the SBRC, you can access trainings, workshops, seminars, one-on-one technical and educational assistance, and other services at no cost. Our one-on-one counseling sessions include individualized business planning, management, marketing, sales, procurement, strategic planning, and first-hand access to financing resources. 

With the District expanding, residents have access to an innovative city full of opportunities for both new and established business enterprises. If you are an aspiring entrepreneur or current small business owner, SBRC is an essential resource for your success! 

One-On-One Sessions

If you are a current or potential small business owner and not sure where to start, how to maintain and/or expand your business, the SBRC’s FREE individualized (concierge like) one-on-one sessions are intended to cater to the specific needs of each and every customer. Whether your questions are regarding the application process, associated fees or timelines, DCRA’s SBRC one-on-one sessions are for you. 

Business Development Group Workshops

If you are a current or potential small business owner and want an opportunity to attend FREE business development group workshops, where you get a chance to network with other business owners, share ideas, and gain knowledge on topics ranging from business planning, legal assistance, financial management, marketing, sales, procurement, and strategic planning, the SBRC can and will meet your needs. Our workshops are located at DCRA and in all eight Wards through-out the District to meet the needs of the business community.
