DC SAFE seeks On Call Supervisory Advocate - Up to $43k

Reports to: Crisis Response Team Director

Location: Domestic Violence Intake Centers, Community, Response Line

Supervises: Advocates, Volunteers and Interns

Work Hours: As scheduled, includes evenings, weekends and on-call (3 wk rotation)

Summary 

Advocates offer direct services to victims of domestic violence on a 24/7 calendar and at various entry points including but not limited to: SAFE’s 24-hour 800 number, ride-alongs, on call, in the DVICs, in Court and at SAFE’s Crisis Shelter. Advocates primarily assist SAFE clients through direct services and programmatic duties.

 SAFE advocates serve as a direct link to community resources to assist victims in maintaining their safety and fulfilling immediate social service needs through short-term case management. SAFE Advocates also provide systems advocacy by providing feedback to the court, the police, and other actors within the legal system regarding their impact on survivors.
