Clean Out Your Closet and Help Keep a Neighbor Warm This Winter

As colder weather approaches, One Care DC is asking community members to help make sure individuals and families have what they need to stay warm this winter.

The organization is currently collecting new and gently used winter clothing and cold-weather essentials for distribution to individuals and families in the community.

Items Needed

One Care DC is accepting donations of:

• Winter coats

• Hats and beanies

• Gloves and mittens

• Scarves

• Sweaters and hoodies

• Warm socks

• Blankets

• Children’s winter clothing

The winter collection is a reminder that donations don’t have to be large to have an impact. A coat that is no longer being worn, an extra blanket, or a few new pairs of warm socks can help someone stay more comfortable and protected as temperatures drop.

For residents planning to clean out their closets this fall, this is also an opportunity to give gently used winter items a second life while supporting neighbors who can put them to immediate use.
