May 15 | Bike to Work Day Returns to Anacostia

Cyclists commuting through Southeast DC will have a chance to refuel and connect with the community during Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 15, 2026.

The Anacostia Pit Stop, hosted by the Anacostia BID, will welcome riders from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at 13th Street & Marion Barry Ave. SE, across from the Anacostia Arts Center.

Part of the region-wide Bike to Work Day celebration, the pit stop will offer refreshments, encouragement, and a fun morning atmosphere for both seasoned bike commuters and first-time riders. The annual event highlights cycling as a healthy, environmentally friendly, and community-oriented way to travel around the District.

Residents, workers, and visitors passing through the neighborhood are encouraged to stop by, grab a snack, and celebrate DC’s growing bike community.

Whether you bike every day or are just giving it a try, Bike to Work Day is a great excuse to enjoy the ride and connect with fellow cyclists in Anacostia.
