August 5 | MPD National Night events in all DC Wards
On Tuesday, August 5, neighborhoods across Washington, DC will come together for National Night Out—an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our communities safer, more caring places to live.
Sponsored nationally by the National Association of Town Watch, National Night Out is celebrated on the first Tuesday in August, and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is once again leading the charge locally. From cookouts and block parties to candlelight vigils and athletic events, residents in all seven police districts will host local events alongside the city’s official kickoff celebration.
This year’s main event will be held at:
Emery Heights Community Center
5701 Georgia Avenue NW
The kickoff will feature music, food, family-friendly activities, and a chance to connect directly with MPD officers, city agencies, and local organizations committed to building stronger, safer neighborhoods.
Additional NNO events will take place throughout the evening at locations across the District, each celebrating community spirit and collaboration.
