August 20 - 21 | Overnight Lane Closures on I-695 for Sign Inspections

(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be investigating signs throughout the District’s highway network from Wednesday, August 20 to Thursday, August 21, 2025. These activities will require single and/or multiple lane closures and take place overnight from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., weather permitting.

The required lane closures and installation activities are scheduled to occur as follows: 

On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, there will be a right lane closure on I-695 westbound.

On Thursday, August 21, 2025, there will be a left lane closure on I-695 eastbound.

If any conditions weather, or otherwise, prohibit closures in the areas noted above, the daily activities will be completed the following day when conditions permit. 

Traffic controls will be in place to warn motorists as they approach the areas. 

Motorists are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the installation personnel.
