In the Black Dolls series, Linguet manifests scenarios of magic realism to visualize the lived experiences of those in his home, French Guiana, re-contextualizing life under a global system of white supremacy. The women in Black Dolls stand and sit in lingerie,  residing in a mix of natural and man-made  environments, and always confronting gaze  of the viewer.

Mirtho Linguet began studying the art of  photography in the early 1990s at the MI21  School of Photography in Montreuil, France.  He later moved to Zurich, Switzerland to build  on his skills and became a highly sought after magazine photographer, working with GQ,  VogueFHMCosmopolitan and many others  over a span of 8 years.

Exhibition: August 18 - October 7, 2017
