Apply Now: birdSEED Housing Grant for First-Time DC Homebuyers
The birdSEED Housing Justice Grant is now accepting applications through September 30, 2025 for its second round of funding this year. This grant supports first-time homebuyers from historically disadvantaged groups who plan to close on a home within 120 days of the grant award.
To be eligible, applicants must:
✔️ Live in DC, Maryland, Virginia, or the Philadelphia area (for at least 3 years)
✔️ Be first-time homebuyers
✔️ Have a household income under $150,000
✔️ Not have already closed on a home
DC-area grant recipients can purchase homes in DC, Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties (MD), and Arlington, Fairfax, Alexandria, and Falls Church (VA).
🏠 Grants are awarded at home closing.
