Anacostia Organics Needs Community Support to Continue Serving Patients

Note From The Advoc8te: I’ve been a customer of Anacostia Organics for years, and their products have personally helped me manage insomnia and pain related to various medical issues—while also being something I’ve enjoyed recreationally. As The Advoc8te, I’m a strong supporter of Anacostia Organics, as well as Linda Greene and her daughter Tamia Harper, and the work they’ve built in this community. I’m contributing because I believe in them and want to help ensure this vital resource continues to serve Ward 8 and beyond—and I encourage you to support them as well, whether through a financial contribution or by purchasing their products.

Hi everyone,

Anacostia Organics is a licensed medical cannabis dispensary located in Ward 8, and the first of its kind East of the River. For the past seven years, we have served patients from across Washington, DC and beyond, with a focus on education, access, and compassionate care.

Our founder, Linda Mercado Greene, was among the first Black women in the country to receive a cannabis license. Together, as a mother-daughter team, we are proud to be among the first Black mother-daughter licensee teams in the nation. From the beginning, this work has been about more than a business. It has been about representation, responsibility, and serving our community with intention.

Today, we are navigating a challenging period and are asking for community support to help us restock, stabilize, and continue serving the neighborhood.

We’ve been especially moved by the number of people who have reached out to support us, including many who are not cannabis patients.

Ways You Can Support

Pay It Forward
Contributions help us continue supporting patients in our community, including those facing serious and life-threatening conditions. From the beginning, we made a commitment to provide medication to Stage 4 cancer patients in Wards 7 and 8 who cannot afford it.

Important Note
This is not an investment opportunity. We are not offering equity, ownership, or financial returns. This is a community support effort.

Optional Thank-You Structure

  • $250 → $300 store credit
