August 19 | Anacostia Organics Announces First Buds & Books Selection: James

The first book has officially been selected!

Buds & Books, the community book club from Anacostia Organics, has chosen James by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Percival Everett as its inaugural read.

Everett's acclaimed novel reimagines Mark Twain's Adventures of Huckleberry Finn from the perspective of Jim, the enslaved man at the center of the original story. James has received widespread critical acclaim for its sharp, powerful and often darkly humorous exploration of race, freedom and identity in America.

Community members are invited to grab a copy, start reading and join Buds & Books for its first discussion.
