UPDATED | W. Cardell Shelton convicted of EMBEZZELMENT when he was a Ward 5 ANC is now running for ANC in Ward 8.
UPDATE: DCist is reporting that WUSA9 may have goofed up and that "W. Cardell Shelton" may actually be Cardell Shelton, former ANC 8C commissioner who in fact does own that house (which with all due respect can use some tidying up). The Advoc8te will post any updates as soon as they come in. If WUSA9 did make a mistake in causing confusion on who in fact is W. Cardell Shelton and who is running for office --- oh my!
A HUGE hat tip to a Twitter follower who brought this to my attention! The Advoc8te had assumed the "W. Cardell Shelton" who was running was former ANC 8C Commissioner Cardell Shelton. I had no idea this was actually William C. Shelton, formerly of Ward 5. William C. Shelton pleaded guilty in 2011 to just under $30,000 from the ANC 8B bank account.

The Advoc8te does not issue endorsements but in this case I have no problem issuing an anti-endorsement. If you live in ANC 8C05 please DO NOT VOTE FOR W. CARDELL SHELTON! Our ANC deserves much better!
Brenda Shields is also running for the 8C05 seat and I have found her to be open, honest, and very competent.
