An unusually busy year for redevelopment prospects in the District’s long ignored Ward 8 ended with a flourish. 

The Congress Heights-based Washington Business Group has submitted a planned-unit development application to build a mixed-use project at 4129-4131 Wheeler Road SE, just a few blocks from the Prince George’s County line. 

The six-story Wheeler Renaissance, per the application filed Dec. 30, “reflects the flourishing and rapidly changing neighborhood of Ward 8 in Southeast” D.C.
“This part of the town has been neglected,” said Dinesh Sharma, WBG president and founder. “The community deserves better than what they have so far.”
