WASHINGTON INFORMER: After-School Program Receives Grant, Expands to Ward 8

D.C. Scores has existed since 1994 and combines soccer, poetry, and service-learning to elementary and middle school students. The program also operates the only elementary and mid-level soccer league in D.C.

Now in partnership with both the American and D.C. beverage associations (ABA and DCBA, respectively), the organization recently announced its expansion during a soccer meet between Burrville Elementary School, located in Northeast, and Moten Elementary School in Southeast. To assist the expansion, ABA and DCBA also presented D.C. Scores a $50,000 grant.
