don't end up in timeout like teddy.

Press interview requests can be submitted HERE. Please indicate the subject, media outlet, and how soon you need the interview. Please note that I do not grant interview requests on the subject of gentrification. That also goes for academic interview requests as well (it seems like everyone is doing their thesis on gentrification).
requests from consultants/gov agencies/ORGANIZATIONS to "pick my brain" about my connections, outreach, marketing, community engagEment eXPERTISE, etc.
That is called consulting work and I get paid for that. Just like you expect to be compensated for your talents, I expect to be compensated for mine. Historically, east of the river professionals have been expected to volunteer their time while an "outside" professional/organization/business/nonprofit is awarded a handsome (and I mean handsome) contract to do the work they are not really qualified to do. The Advoc8te AKA Nikki Peele don't play that - at all.
But you may feel free to drop me a line at email@example.com to inquire about my consulting rates and services. I promise I'm worth every penny!
REQUESTS TO MEET FOR COFFEE
If this blog in anyway encouraged you to consider a move east of the river, I am so happy! Welcome neighbor! You will soon discover all the amazing things that make wards 7 & 8 so great!
Our views are amazing, the people are lovely, and there is a real sense of community here. Welcome! Feel free to drop me a line to introduce yourself but please note, I don't like coffee and even if I did, I wouldn't have time to go out to drink it anyway! Lol! I work a full-time job, have full-time consulting clients, try and find time to write this blog, care for a demanding and anxious dog and sometimes -- on occasion -- I try to fit in some time to actually sleep!
So alas, as much as I may want to (and I do), there is no way I can honor all of these generous invitations to have coffee. I wish I could! That said, I'm hoping sometime in the near future to host group events specifically for our new arrivals where we can meet and connect. UPDATE: Coming in 2018 for sure!
In the meantime, I invite you to attend your Advisory Neighborhood Commission monthly meeting, join the Great Ward 8 Facebook page, the Greater Ward 7 Facebook page, the MPD 7D Listserv and check-out one of the several social and community groups such as the HABA, r.e.e.l., Happy Ours or the Congress Heights Civic Association to start. All of them do great work and they can't wait to meet you!
