MPD’s Weekly Firearm Recoveries: March 18 to March 25, 2024

Every day, the Metropolitan Police Department works to investigate and recover illegal firearms in Washington D.C. through intelligence-based policing to identify, interdict, and interrupt armed violent offenders within the District.  In addition to our patrol officers, members from several of MPD’s specialized units work tirelessly to safely and respectfully secure illegal firearms and get them off our streets.  From Monday, March 18, 2024, through Monday, March 25, 2024, MPD detectives and officers recovered 55 firearms in the District of Columbia.

  • An unknown caliber (Ghost Gun) rifle was recovered in the 1700 block of Galen Street, Southwest.  CCN: 24041634

 

  • A Rock Island CC3P .45 caliber handgun was recovered in the 3800 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest.  The following person was arrested: 32-year-old Tony Fenwick of Northeast, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, and Possession of Unregistered Ammunition.  CCN: 24041682

 

  • A Springfield Armory XDs .45 caliber handgun was recovered in the 5100 block of Lee Street, Northeast.  The following person was arrested: 35-year-old Rinardo Russel of Northeast, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Felon in Possession Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, and Consumption of Marijuana in Public Space.  CCN: 24041796

 

  • A Glock 22 .40 caliber handgun was recovered in the 1600 block of Kramer Street, Northeast.  The following person was arrested: 19-year-old Sequan Tyler of Southeast, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Unlawful Possession of a Machine Gun, Receiving Stolen Property, and Possible Implements of a Crime.  CCN: 24041899

  • A Springfield Armory XD .40 caliber handgun, a Durkin Precision AR-style handgun unknown caliber, and a Radical Firearms RF16 .556 caliber AR style handgun were recovered in the 500 block M Street, Northeast.  CCN: 24042076

 

  • A 12-gauge shotgun (pictured below) was recovered in the 1100 block of 3rd Street, Southwest.  The following person was arrested: 27-year-old Aaron White of Southwest, DC, for Possession of an Unregistered Firearm.  CCN: 24042086Wednesday, March 27, 2024
